CBSE UGC NET 2017 - National Eligibility Test abbreviated as NET is a national level exam conducted by Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) on behalf of University Grants Commission (UGC) for determining eligibility either for Assistant Professor and Junior Research Fellowship (JRF) programmes or both in Indian universities and colleges. UGC NET 2017 aims to ensure minimum standards of qualification and aptitude required for the entrants in teaching professions and research. CBSE conducts UGC NET two times a year. Who can take UGC NET 2017?
The UGC NET 2017 can be taken up by candidates who have Master’s Degree or equivalent examination from universities/institutions recognised by UGC. Candidates must have Postgraduate/Master’s Degree in in Humanities (including languages) and Social Science, Computer Science &Applications, Electronic Science etc. The minimum marks required to become eligible for UGC NET 2017 for General Category candidates is 55% while the minimum marks of 50% is required for Other Backward Classes(OBC) belonging to non-creamy layer/Scheduled Caste(SC)/Scheduled Tribe(ST)/ persons with disability(PWD) category candidates.

Result Declaration of UGC NET 2017
The answer key of CBSE UGC NET 2017 has been released by Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) on May 2. All the candidates who appeared in UGC NET January, 2017 examination held on January 22 can now download the scanned images of OMR answer sheets and answer keys from May 2 to 8, 2017. The examination authority releases the UGC NET 2017 answer key of each subject. Candidates can download UGC NET answer key 2017 of all the papers to know their marks they can secure based on the marked response. Based on the evaluated marks candidates can figure out their total score and know their probability of qualifying UGC NET 2017.
Candidates have to score a minimum marks as prescribed by the examination authority CBSE to qualify the entrance exam. Candidates have to secure qualifying marks as per their category to pass the UGC NET 2017. The table given below show the UGC NET Cut off Score 2017.

UGC NET 2017 result of January session will be declared tentatively in the month of March/April. The result of only those candidates will be declared who will secure the qualifying marks in the exam. The cut off marks to qualify UGC NET 2017 for general category candidates is 40% in paper I & II and 50% in Paper III while OBC/SC/ST category candidates have to secure 35% in paper I & II and 40% in Paper III. Amongst those candidates who have passed UGC NET 2017, a merit list will be prepare subject- wise and category-wise using the aggregate marks of all the three papers secured by such candidates. Only top 15% candidates (for each subject and category) as per the merit list will be declared UGC NET qualified for eligibility for Assistant Professor only. A separate merit list for the JRF will be prepared from amongst the top 15% candidates UGC NET qualified candidates.

Nationality – Candidates must be Indian nationals
Junior Research Fellowship: Not more than 28 years. A relaxation up to 5 years for candidates belonging to OBC (Non- creamy layer) SC/ST/PWD categories and to women applicants
Assistant Professor: There is no upper age limit for applying for eligibility for Assistant Professor
Candidates must have Master’s Degree or equivalent examination from universities/institutions recognised by UGC
Master’s Degree/Post graduation must be in any of the given subjects like Humanities (including languages) and Social Science, Computer Science &Applications, Electronic Science etc.
General Category candidates must have 55% in Post-Graduation

The entrance exam of CBSE UGC NET 2017 conductsin pen and paper based mode in morning as well as in forenoon session. The admit card of CBSE UGC NET 2017 available to download two week before the schedule dates of exam. UGC NET admit card 2017 of January session could be downloaded from December 28, 2016. To download admit card candidates have to enter their exam registration number and password. The admit card is an important documents which will have candidate’s detail like their exam roll number, category, photograph, signature, name and address of the allotted exam centre, etc. Without the admit card candidates will not allowed to take test. Candidates are advised check all the entries in the admit card. In case of any discrepancy, candidate should immediately inform the exam conducting authority.
The online registration of CBSE UGC NET 2017 January session began from October 17, 2016. Candidates could fill the UGC NET application form 2017 in online mode till November 23, 2017 and no any other mode of application form filling was accepted. Candidates were advised to read the prospectus carefully to ascertain their eligibility, application procedure before beginning the online registration of UGC NET 2017. Basically, the registration was a 4 stage procedure. The first stage was registration for the exam where candidates could fill in the on-line application and obtain the registration number. Upload images of photograph and signature in JPEG format as prescribed dimensions at stage 2. Next stage was making payment for the exam through Debit/Credit Card/Net Banking. At stage 4, candidates had to take print out of filled in UGC NET 2017 application confirmation page.
